Preformance Day

It went well . We went to Fredrick Bramer. The students enjoyed it. One of them said it was 'professional' another said 'It really help us understand the problems in today's society.'
What went well: Everybody knew their lines and what they were doing. We were mature about everything we did and got about doing our job. In addition we got the message across well and absorbed the audience's focus. The energy did not drop.
What we could improve: I noticed a few stutters through out the piece and every time a student asked a question there was always a long pause before the actors answered it.

The Madness of the Method.

Method Acting is an technique used by actors to create thoughts and feelings of their characters, so they can develop lifelike performances. Although not all method actors use the same approach, the "method" in method acting usually refers to the practise. This was influenced by Constantin Stanislavski and created by Lee Strasberg. Actors draw upon their own emotions and memories in their portrayals. This is aided by a set of exercises and practises including sense memory and affective memory. Method acting shares similarities with Stanislavski's system.
Method actors are often characterised as immersing themselves in their characters to the extent that they continue to portray them even offstage or off-camera for the duration of a project. However, this while some actors have employed this approach, it is generally not taught as part of the Method.
Method acting has been described as having "revolutionised American theatre."                                  
Classical acting instruction "had focused on developing external talents, but the Method is the first systematised training that also developed internal abilities.
Method acting continues to evolve, with many contemporary acting teachers, schools, and colleges teaching an integrated approach that draws from several different schools of thought about acting.

Trust The Movie

Today just to prepare myself I watched this movie.
It's about talking on the Internet and how you don't know who you are talking to.

It's about a girl who is fourteen and lives in Chicago who, when goes on her laptop, meets up with a 25 year old man on the Internet.He asked to meet up with her. She agrees to meet up with him without telling anybody Then when they meet he takes her to a cafe before giving her a 'present' in the car. After meeting up at the mall the 25 year old man takes the girl to a motel an sexually assaulted her.

Then after this she doesn't talk to him again and then calls the police stating she had been sexually assaulted. The parents are then informed and the FBI get involved to investigate the problem.
A few weeks later the FBI get possible suspects but none match the description the girl gave them. The girl then phones the man she met on the Internet and he answers. However, working out that the FBI is tracking the phone call, he slams the phone down. This is the point were the parents start investigating and everything in the house becomes in tense.
In end the girl hugs the farther after saying she forgives him and during the end credits we see that the paedophile is in fact a school teacher who has a family of his own.
I think this film is relevant to our TIE project because it shows that you shouldn't arrange to meet strangers. This is shown, in our project, when Maurica(Sharah) arrange to meet Ahmed (Daz) who is compete stranger. Although the age is the same the main importance of it is the message.



'I think we should meet' Charlie (the fake ID) invites Annie (the victim) to meet him at the mall after grooming her.

TIE (Theatre in Education)

TIE is basically what is says on the tin. It is education by doing a educational activity that is presented to the youth of today which trys to teach them morals that can be carried with them throughout their life. The productions are presented throw many subjects from bullying to drugs,     per-pressure, Cyber/Physical bulling, and moany more.
This type of theatre was started in Coventry at the Belgrade Theatre in 1955 by the actor Roger Chapman and has been used as and educational tool ever since.

Our Target Audience

Year 10
Age Range:14-15 year olds
Differences for the Next Project:
In this age group most people have matured, their concentration levels are much more higher than the kids and the stories that we are acting act will not be to unfamiliar from them. This is also the age were most people start work.
Difficulties for this Age Range:
However some teens mess around. This is probably means they want attention, power, revenge or they just have a lack of confident with in themselves. These problems on occur when they get frustrated and that only happened when they are bored. So if we are all doing our jobs probably we should be able to avoid any of this behaviour.

The Forum

The forum it self was a unique experience.
It was formed of chairs around the edge and some space in the middle if it.
The aim of it was to try and incorporate the audience. it does by making them feel comfortable. We need to get the message across. This was a good way to do that.




The chairs is were me and all the actor sat to explain what was going on in the middle.



The space in which the performers showed us the stories.
During the past few days Nick has always been going on about we are the 10% of hard workers and the other 90% of teenagers are lazy.

The Group Plays

Everybody went into different groups to improvise the problems we researched. My group featured Maurica L, Rebecca W, Ahmed H and Ayo A. We made a mini play based around our problem. My group took the problem of sexting.
What went well:
I made a suggestion to the group that we should have consciences for the two main characters. I thought this would be effective because it would be like. The group accepted this and Incorporated it in the script which was improvised from the start. The script would then go on to be a minor part of the final piece. Another good point was the monologues that we as a group made. Three of these made the final performance.
What didn't go well:
On the other hand there were ideas that did not get through. One of these ideas was Ayo's idea about the brother. This did not work for many reasons. One of those was the fact that it was too complicated and did not make sense with the rest of the piece.

Getting the Groups together

Today we made groups for the second TIE project 
We got into to groups to discuss ideas.What problems do occur around our age group.
By this we did some research. I did it about sexting , a very horrible yet important topic. We talked throw such topics as sexting, peer pressure, cyber/peer pressure, etc.
We all decided as a group to deal with problem of sexting.
As a group we made a script via improvising it. I, with Rebecca, made up lines for the consciences. Ahmed suggested that we should do monologues so we all put our ideas forward.
 
Then as a group we discussed which monologues should go and which ones are best left out.
My monologue that I had written did not get in to the final piece because that group and I felt that it was best not to use it.
Another thing we cut was the brother. This meant that it did not make sense within the story because we did not show the abuse actually happen.
This means it made the audience think about what happened next because this is what were trying to do.
Get the message across we all decided to make a play. Then after that we decided to create a forum.

Sexting



These images have been taken and sent to others, control is lost of them and they can end up anywhere. They could be seen by friends and family, a future employer, or even, in some cases, end up in the possession an offender!
This also puts that person who originally sent the images in a vulnerable position, as somebody they may or may not know now has these images and could use technology to bully, harass or even try to locate them.
Just think – if you wouldn’t print and pass these images around your school or show your mum or dad, they are not appropriate to share via phone or other technologies.

In addition you will be breaking the law because if a teenager were to have in their possession an indecent image of another minor, they would technically be in possession of an indecent image of a child.
This is an offence because of the Protection of Children Act 1978 and the Criminal Justice Act 1988.


             
Peer Pressure is one of the main factors of sexting.
This could end up happening as a result.
